Food is a big part of any ski-holiday, and here at Ski Famille we understand how important it is to get it right! With this in mind, last week saw our newly recruited chalet chefs’ head out to Les Gets to begin their training in preparation for the 2016/17 season.
Our catered chalet menu has been carefully designed by the award-winning Cambridge Cookery School, with our training programme aimed at getting all our chefs producing well-presented, nutritious, and filling food each and every night of the season.
The week of training, again lead by the Cambridge Cookery School, saw all the dishes on the Ski Famille menu being practised (and tasted!), resulting in a set of fully trained chalet chefs, and a lot of full tummies!
Our Operations Manager, Kirsty filled us in on what the team had eaten on just one of the training days last week, mentioning that they had “already had pancakes, French toast, poached eggs and porridge for breakfast, then fish fingers, fish pie, sweet potato wedges and a chocolate cookie sandwich for lunch!” before going on to list out what was still to come “then tonight we have giant cheese straws, Boudin Noir salad, Cheese Soufflé, Honey roast duck breast, Steak Frites, Panna cotta and a Tarte au Citron! It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!”.
