Important information
Room Sizes
Bedrooms and beds vary. Some rooms have low ceilings and sloping roofs. Double beds are generally 4ft 6ins wide and the smallest rooms have a minimum of approximately 18 ins space around the bed. If room or bed size is important, please check before booking.
Noise
You will be staying with other families, so noise between rooms will probably be more than you are used to at home.
Check in/check out
Rooms will not be ready for arriving guests before 2pm. We ask that departing guests are clear of their chalet by 10am. We strongly suggest that you take these times into account when planning travel arrangements.
Towels
One hand towel and one bath towel is provided for each client. They are changed once during the holiday.
Cooking standards
We employ staff with proven cooking skills. They attend a comprehensive training course to acclimatise to shopping and cooking in the Alps. Chalet holidays have an element of informality, but this is not an excuse for poor standards. It is however important clients do not have unrealistic expectations about catering standards. We do not provide Cordon Bleu meals. We serve a set menu each night and expect food to be tasty, well presented, hot and on time - the kind of food you might find in a country pub, small hotel or guest house.
*** If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know in advance of your holiday ***
Day off Staff
Staff have Wednesday off each week. Breakfast and afternoon tea are set out, plus a children’s evening meal if required. It is the parents’ responsibility to heat it up and serve it. The chalet is not cleaned.
Chalet Safety
Please familiarise yourself with your accommodation on arrival - particularly from your child’s point of view. The designs are not always 100% child-friendly - for instance tiled floors and steep staircases. We improve them where we can, but most chalets are rented and as with any home, we cannot make them totally safe for children. We ask parents to take sensible precautions (like insisting children wear slippers) to help to avoid accidents.
Stairgates
At the beginning of the season stairgates are fitted in chalets at the top of stairs. Clients must be aware that whilst appropriate in a normal home environment, fire and security regulations make it impossible to install stairgates in other parts of the chalets.
Smoking
All chalets in our programme are non-smoking.
