For centuries it's been a farming hamlet and still retains its roots. Buildings are low and built in a traditional style . . . no ugly tower blocks here.
Out of season it's still a farming area, so there's a traditional market each week and a working 'fromagerie' which makes delicious local cheese and is open for winter visitors too. There is also a museum, as well as more modern facilities like a bowling alley, an ice rink, cinema, bars and discos.
