Snow news from the Alps

There’s a snowy week ahead in the mountains. Following a welcome top-up of snow last week, more heavy snow is forecast over the next few days. There is currently 125cm of snow on the upper slopes in Les Gets, with 55cm on the lower, with an additional 65cm forecast to fall over the next 24 hours. An additional 17cm  is due to fall throughout Tuesday and further 8cm is predicted towards the end of the week.  The middle part of the week is forecast to bring clear skies meaning fantastic skiing conditions. A week of cold temperatures lies ahead with highs of 9 degrees on Friday and lows of – 4 degrees on Tuesday.

It’s a similar situation in the resort of La Plagne, with heavy snowfall forecast. There is 90cm of fresh snow due to fall throughout today and tonight, and a further 25cm on Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are set to be clear and sunny before a further dusting of light snow is due to fall on Saturday. There are current snow depths of 235cm on the upper slopes and 130cm on the lower. Again temperatures are predicted to stay low with highs of 6 on Friday and lows of -9 on Tuesday.

In Les Menuires, and the satellite resorts of Reberty 2000 and Les Bruyeres there is currently 192cm on the upper slopes and 91cm on the lower. The next few days is forecast to bring an additional 95cm of snow, before clear skies set in for the middle of the week. An additional dusting of fresh snow is forecast for Saturday. Temperatures are staying cold with lows of -8 and highs of 6 degrees.

The pistes in all resorts are currently well groomed, offering some fantastic skiing, and the fresh snow will create some fantastic conditions for our guests in resort this week.
