Snow Report – French Alps – 28th March 2018

The snow continues to fall as we move into the final stage of the season. It is rare to see so much snow in this period late in the season, however, it is the best season in over 30 years so we expect nothing less! We look set for a rather snowy Easter in the mountains. If that’s not enough, we are expecting plenty of sunshine in our resorts too; the perfect blend of bluebird days and top-ups of powder.

Looking ahead, La Plagne and Les Menuires (home to our resorts of Les Bruyeres and Reberty 2000)  are expecting small yet consistent snowfall throughout the next 7 days.

Les Gets: Our family-friendly resort of Les Gets is expecting the most snow out of all of our resorts. No need to worry about poor levels of snow either with a whopping 44 more centimetres of fresh powder in the mix over the next 7 days. Tomorrow (29th March) looks set to be ‘the big one’ with 20 centimetres expected to fall at the highest points of Les Gets’ slopes and 16 centimetres at resort level. If that wasn’t enough, Friday (30th March) is set for a further 12 centimetres of snow in the mountains and 11 centimetres at resort level.

La Plagne: What more could you want than a colossal 15 centimetres of snow upon arrival? That’s what you’ll experience if your family is heading to our resort in Plagne 1800 this week. It’s not just Easter Sunday which is experiencing 15 centimetres of snow in La Plagne; every other day is expecting up to 5 centimetres of snow with some sunshine thrown into the mix too.

Les Menuires: Our resorts of Les Bruyeres and Reberty2000 (just outside Les Menuires in the Three Valleys) are expecting light yet consistent snowfall over the next 7 days. Expect 4-5 centimetres of snow each day with some late-season sunshine added into the mix too. Tomorrow (Thursday 28th) is looking likely to be the snowiest day with 7 centimetres predicted. Monday (2nd April) looks set to be the sunniest and warmest day with highs of 8 Degrees Celcius at resort level and 5 Degrees at mid-mountain level…. the perfect weather after several days of snow! For any of our guests in Les Menuires, don’t forget to pack your suncream! Yes… sunburn in the mountains is a thing and it certainly isn’t a good look (Google “skiing sunburn” if you don’t believe us!).
