On Monday I visited the site of our new chalets in Les Bruyeres (Les Menuires, 3 Valleys), wires were poking out of the walls, I kept tripping over underfloor heating hoses and a huge dollop of imagination was needed to visualise the finished product. Despite all of this I was wandering around with a grin like a kid in a sweet shop. These are going to be absolutely stonking chalets.

This project has been a few years in the making and more than once I wasn’t sure it would happen at all. Now roofs are on and we are bang on schedule for an early November delivery. A great result.

I’ve worked with five different chalet owners on new build projects over the past few years, but this has been the most exciting by far. The flexibility you have with 400 m2 of space per chalet gives massive potential to really tailor a property to the needs of families.

We already knew the owner/developer could deliver a great product on time. He is the man behind existing chalets Aigrette and Corbeau. Also in Les Bruyeres these two chalets joined our program last season and were a great success. They have been further improved for next Winter with relocated playrooms, improved access to the sauna and a number of further minor tweaks.

The new chalets, Aigle and Faucon, are a slightly different proposition to the near neighbours. Most significantly we were starting with a blank canvas. Whilst the footprint and external elevations of the chalets were more or less set, there isn’t a  single room inside the we haven’t redesigned. Sometimes multiple times!

The end result will be chalets better adapted to the desires of skiing families than anything we have created before. Each property can accommodate up to four families in absolute comfort with access to superb facilities. All this in a genuinely ski in ski out 3 Valleys location at over 1800m.

The family suite concept that now exist in all of our properties has been further developed in Aigle and Faucon. Family Suites allow parents and children to have their own rooms behind one door. Rooms and Suites vary in size, layout and design but all ensure that families have a comfortable space where parents can be close to children without having to share a room with them. Open plan family rooms are still pretty common with some other tour operators and when I think how much my own three-year-old snuffles and mutters in the night the idea of it turns me cold!

The common areas of both chalets are light and spacious and a (very!) large mezzanine area means we effectively have a second lounge seating area away from the main living room. This is a great bit of additional flexibility; particularly when not all guests in a chalet know each other.

Each chalet has a hot tub on the main balcony, a dedicated play room, a private cinema room and a boot room with direct access to the ski slopes. Aigle also has a sauna, whilst Faucon has a further leisure area downstairs.

The old adage of “book early to avoid disappointment” has never been more appropriate. These chalets have only just gone on sale but are proving popular with regular guests. Our artists impressions give a great feel for the overall look of the chalets and we have detailed floor plans available online. If you want to chat through the layout in more details, or better understand the amazing location, please don’t hesitate to give us a ring.

These two new chalets as are included in our Christmas and New Year offers.
