What’s on in Les Gets

Les Gets is a small traditional village with a reputation for its fantastic family-friendly atmosphere, good skiing and plenty of Après ski activities for families. Alongside the fantastic skiing and snowboarding on offer, the resort has a great range of après ski entertainment to be enjoyed by families with both young and older children.

If you want to do a bit of shopping during your holiday then make sure you visit the weekly market which is particularly pretty. Open all year round, every Thursday between 8 am and 12.30 pm.

Les Gets has a quiet nightlife, but there is a great selection of bars for that well earned beer or cocktail in the evening.

If eating out is your thing then you won’t be disappointed as Les Gets has more than 50 restaurants to choose from. Here are some that we recommend both on the slopes and in Les Gets Village.

Restaurants on the Les Gets ski slopes:

La Paika – Les Gets, La Turche. Fabulous food in a great location at the side of the blue run at La Turche. Guest recommendation – “Best dessert table and fabulous barbecues”.

Vaffieu – Located at the top of Pleney, Morzine. It makes a great pit stop for a quick snack and they have lots of sun chairs to take a break in. This place gets really busy at lunch time, so you really do need to book ahead.

Grande Ourse – At the top of Mont Chery with fabulous panoramic views over the Mont Blanc massif. Great food in both their restaurant and pizza/pasta bar.

Christmas Village

Les Gets’ Father Christmas Village is an extremely popular and atmospheric annual event, unmissable for families with younger children. Children can come and visit Santa himself who lives in an enchanted forest with his team of loyal friendly elves. The elves will take you and your family on a tour of the magical forest, guiding you to where Father Christmas lives!

Father Christmas’s enchanted forest – opening dates for 2018 to be confirmed.

One of our top recommendations for the fearless! You will be attached to a pony and then ski behind it either walking, trotting, cantering or galloping. Go as fast as you want and enjoy this fantastic, family friendly activity whist also taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery.

Children aged 8 and above can take part but will need to be accompanied by an adult and have a minimum of 3* ski level. Under 8’s and lower level skiers can get a taste of what it’s like to do ski-joering in the special “Ski-joering Park”.
