Ski Famille is a privately owned company. Established in 1990 we are pioneers of Family Focused Ski Holidays. Led by a highly motivated team in the UK and Overseas, we offer our guests a very high standard of service.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, confident, creative, and charismatic people to join our team for the 2017/18 season. We have 15 Chalets in three Alpine resorts; Les Gets, La Plagne and Les Menuires (3 Valleys).

We will provide comprehensive training at the beginning of the season to ensure you make the most of your time in the mountains. Languages and previous ski industry experience are not essential for our roles.

Ski Famille nannies are the reason that so many of our guests return year after year. You will be providing stimulating, entertaining and safe activities for children from 3 months to 12 years. Unlike many day nurseries, the children are only there for a week, which means relationships constantly have to be made with new children. We provide training before the season starts on all aspects of working in a ski resort, for example, taking the children to ski school and activities to suit the environment.

The Person

We require our qualified childcarers to have either NVQ Level 3, NNEB, CACHE, BTEC, RGN, RSCN, or equivalent qualifications. You must also have proven childcare experience and be fully qualified to work with young babies. Our non-qualified childcarers must be able to demonstrate relevant experience and a real commitment to working with children and helping them get the most from their holiday. You must hold a valid First Aid Certificate and we will also conduct DBS (previously CRB) checks as well as taking up at least two references. Ski Famille chefs cook for family guests in Alpine chalets sleeping 9 to 30 guests.

You will be providing breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3-course meal, plus a separate children’s tea. Working with the rest of the team you will also ensure your chalet is clean and well presented at all times.

Your skills and experience

We don’t insist of formal qualifications, but you will be able to demonstrate solid cooking experience in a commercial environment and a real passion for food. You will also need to be organised, well presented and enjoy interacting with your guests. You will be a keen team player and have the initiative to work on your own. We want to work with enthusiastic people who are happy to go the extra mile to ensure families have a fun and relaxing holiday. A current level 2 food hygiene certificate, UK National Insurance number, UK Passport and UK Bank Account are requirements of this role.

Our Childcare Supervisor has an involved role at the heart of the childcare, supervising the provision of stimulating, entertaining and safe activites for children from 4 months to 12 years.  You will report directly to the Childcare Manager or Resort Manager who you will work alongside when planning the childcare rotas and activites for the week.  You will be expected to work alongside other childcarers in the chalets and around the resorts, as well as spending time liaising with parents.  The team should look upon you as a source of information and inspiration.  We provide training before the season starts on all aspects of working in a ski resort, for example, taking the children to ski school and activities to suit the environment.

You will be part of a small flexible team and be willing to have a go at anything! Duties include airport transfers snow clearing, hot tub maintenance and working in one of our chalets.

On a Saturday you will be repping our coach to Geneva Airport. You will also be selling any additional ski extras to guests (Ski hire, lift passes, ski school)

During the rest of the week you will work in one of our larger chalets, you will carrying out daily housekeeping duties, keeping the chalet clean and well presented. You will assist in providing breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3-course meal, plus a separate children’s tea earlier in the evening.

Resort Assistant’s are client facing and will also be dealing with children on a day-to-day basis.

The Person

You will able to work efficiently without supervision, have a “can do” attitude and will demonstrate excellent customer service skills; you will be willing to go the extra mile at all times. You will need to be organised and well presented.

You will be a keen team player as well as having the initiative to work on your own. Demonstrating high quality service and ensuring a family friendly environment for all guests will be your prime focus.

We will conduct a DBS (previously CRB) for you whilst taking up two previous employer references.
